Just The Starting Point

Posted by Kim Jackson in Fashion & Sewing

With Summer here we were inspired to use a basic bodice pattern as the starting point for a draped tunic.

White brights are a must during the summer season.  I've chosen a white-on-white stripe knit and white burn-out contrasting print, both in a light-weight knit. When mixing prints, I often will use monochromatic color schemes to make the garment feel like more contemporary.

Work in progress as I add modifications to the bodice block.

More touches to the pullover tunic.  I added a panel of the burn-out print fabric to the side of the top.

Model Michelle is wearing the final garment.  The draped  pocket gives a unique finish to the top.  Finished Garment is complete, Cheers!
